PROJECTS

LAURITZEN GARDENS
TIGER SCULPTURE PLAZA
Under Construction!
Chalk Site Design helped the Lauritzen Gardens locate and design a plaza to frame a new sculpture. Initially planned to be installed in an annual bed, Chalk analyzed the entry and determined the need for a plaza at the entrance roundabout. In addition to creating a beautiful setting, using cast stone lotus flowers and exposed glass aggregate concrete, the plaza will serve a vital purpose for enhancing visitor experience.
UNL CHILDREN'S CENTER
PLAYGROUND RENOVATION
Chalk Site Design is leading the renovation of the Whittier Playground, on the University of Nebraska, Lincoln's Campus. The playground is currently under construction and is planned to feature reclaimed trees as nature-play features.

PAPILLION PUBLIC WORKS
CONCEPTUAL SITE DESIGN
Chalk Site Design assisted a developer to envision a community-focused site concept that would create an active urban space, connecting Papillion's urban core with the river and regional trails.
The concept capitalizes on a large 'event green' to activate the space, and wide pedestrian ways, flanking the public works building, to draw people from downtown Papillion into the space.
ONETWOONE CHANDLER
SENIOR HOUSING
CHANDLER, AZ
Chalk Site Design was hired to help develop concepts and graphics for a new senior housing development in Chandler Arizona. The goal is to create outdoor spaces that are beautiful, and functional, but designed in a way that, in these times of COVid-19, promotes the conflicting aspects of social interaction and social distancing.

LAURITZEN GARDENS JAPANESE PARK
Collaborating with the nationally renowned designer Julie Moir Messervy, Chalk Site Design is acting as the local Landscape Architect to develop construction documents, as well as providing technical and design expertise.
The new Japanese Park Renovation is adding new pathways, boardwalk, and dry stone garden. In addition, there are plans to renovate Mt. Fuji itself, which include making the hill more symmetrical, and providing a meditative walk up and back down the summit.
THE BRANT AT GRETNA
SENIOR CENTER AND
MEMORY CARE GARDEN
Chalk Site Design is helping develop a new Senior Care facility. The new facility includes a range of care, such as independent living, assisted living, and a memory care wing.
Chalk Site Design is currently designing outdoor spaces that encourage seniors to safely engage with nature, such as a new Memory Garden, which will be designed specifically for the residents who are experiencing dementia and other memory disabilities.
